5 Reasons Why You’ll Fail At Losing Weight

wedgie 5 Reasons Why Youll Fail At Losing WeightOk I’m going to be brutally honest here with you. Losing weight is not as easy as it looks.

To be frank, to get to your desired bodyweight you’re going to have to make some HUGE changes to your lifestyle.

So…you scared yet?

Well if you’re not then you’re already better than 97% of the people out there who wish to lose weight and get the body of their dreams but for reasons unseen to them, it just never happens.

This isn’t because they don’t want it BAD enough, it’s because they aren’t willing to consistently change their lifestyle from a crappy one into a healthy one.

Same thing goes for making money…

People will stick with the same boring job that they absolutely HATE because they’re just too scared to create a change that will take them outside their familiar zone. Having a job with security and a regular modest income is comforting, same goes with weight loss, having that cheesecake or diet soda for lunch every day is also comforting.

BUT if you want to CREATE a change and TAKE RESPONSIBILITY for yourself then I believe you can absolutely create anything you want.

To start, here are 5 things you DON’T want to do to accomplish your goals…

1. FEAR.

Fear is the dirty little scoundrel sitting on your shoulder constantly whispering in your ear to stay to your “near and dear” comfort zone. The secret is not to avoid fear but to feel the fear and do it anyway. But most of us will take the easy way out and give in to fear when it gives us a challenge. Stay the course, plan for the long term and never give in.

2. EXCUSES.

I’ve been in the fitness industry for a good while now and I’ve heard every excuse in the book. I know life gets hectic, heck I can barely squeeze a workout in a gym that I work at! But making your health and fitness a priority and thinking of it as an investment while give you the motivation to stick with your goals when your body wants to say it’s “too tired today.”

3. NO CLEARLY WRITTEN GOALS.

Having a goal of attaining the perfect body is NOT a well defined goal. In fact, it’s just the opposite. Taking your physical body measurements (girth, weight & body fat percentage) and writing down what you want them to be and by WHEN is critically important. Always have a deadline or else we fall into the trap of “waiting” until the time is perfect (which ends up being never).

4. LAZINESS.

I’m a firm believer that laziness is contagious.  Some people are just WAY too lazy to ever find success in life or in fitness.  Having a purpose to your weight loss journey cannot be understated. Anybody can work out when they’re in the mood for it. But after that first month rolls around it gets harder to find the motivation to keep going. Make sure you clearly know WHY you’re going through all this training and be sure to write it down right next to your goals. And whenever you’re feeling like not working out, take a look at why you want to accomplish it.

5. ATTITUDE.

This is an EASY one to overlook but I can usually always determine someone’s success on their level of attitude. When someone comes to me and they’re in a great mood and they’re excited to exercise, then their success rate is going to go through the ROOF. But if they have a negative attitude and are complaining about this and that then the next hour is going to seem like pulling teeth. Remember, your attitude determines your altitude.
